Traces (Cutting Boards)
Traces were produced as both photographs and intaglio prints. (see Traces series under Photography).
The marks are traces of daily food preparations — cutting, slicing, chopping, that I made while cooking meals, using plastic kitchen cutting boards, incised by various kitchen knives. The cutting boards are photographed and documented on a light table. They are then inked and printed as hand-pulled intaglio prints. These prints and photographs reveal a double language of process and unconscious drawing.
